Ōhirume-no-Muchi

 biography  Ohirume, oh Ohirume, what a blessed child she was. Born in perfection, she embodied the purest form of godhood. The eldest among her siblings, she was cherished endlessly by both her mother and father, favored above her brothers. Crowned as the ruler of Takamagahara, the young princess was revered as a queen from the moment she ascended the throne.
Yet many rumors surrounded her. Whispers spread through the heavens... "a tyrant queen", "a merciless goddess", "a cold ruler who never left her throne".
But not all of it was true.
She was not a calculating, self-serving queen, nor a tyrant obsessed with control. Ohirume was a goddess with a pure heart. Despite being raised in reverence and excess, she grew humble, gentle, and patient, she ruled with just and forgives those who wronged her.
The Sun Goddess loved the world her parents had created so deeply that she wept upon learning the truth of her power, that her radiance would burn all life, be it animal, human, or even fellow gods.
What others called a blessing, she came to see as a curse.
She did not desire an all-consuming flame, nor a power capable of disintegrating everything it touched. In her loneliness and fear, she blinded her own eyes and forced her body into stagnation, hoping her power would cease to grow. But her sacrifice was in vain. Even in stagnation, her light continued to burn everything.
Grief-stricken and afraid of the harm she might cause, she withdrew from the world, retreating into the heavens, away from everyone, away from anything she could hurt.
Amaterasu is not a cruel goddess. She is a woman overflowing with love, so... so much love that her heart aches from having no one to share it with.
